NOVEMBER highlights

Hello hello! It’s been a busy month for us at East West. Connecting with creatives, brands and our community. Getting ready for a time of year where connection really is everything. Especially here in the UK where it’s so damn cold outside, I just want to be inside with some good food, family and friends.

This November, we launched collaborations with not only the queen of supper clubs, Sohini from Smoke & Lime, but also with new and upcoming alcohol-free Bunta Beer (I may have been initially attracted to the brand because the guy on the can looks like me, but the fact that it tastes pretty good is a great bonus).

And moving forward into December, the theme for us really is community. We’re keeping the traditions of langar going from the summer months into the winter, at a time when it’s needed the most.

A BENGALI TAKEOVER

Everyone and their dog are doing collabs at the moment, but it’s not always so easy for us. I mean, when you’ve pulled off the collaboration of Indian and Italian food, it’s hard to top that. But when we saw what Sohini from Smoke & Lime had come up with, we knew we had to.

Prawn malai curry pizza and Kolkata street aloo dum, proper Bengali flavours. Doesn’t hurt that the wife is from Kolkata so that definitely scored me a few brownie points too!

CHEERS TO BEERS

I saw the branding of Bunta beer and instantly fell in love. If you’re Punjabi, I am sure you must have heard the phrase Sunta Bunta many times. But the name is actually inspired by those bottles you get with marbles in called Bunta - I was a bit disappointed the beer is alcohol free, but hey it tastes good so we’ll let them off this time.

THE SEASON FOR GIVING BACK

This December, we are teaming up with Kentish Town Foodbank to donate £1 from every C.T.M and Hara Bhara pizza sale. This will go directly to them.

If you want to join us in supporting their efforts further, then by all means do so here or pop some of the food donations listed here in our basket when you visit.
